“Worship does not mean offering flowers. / It means offering your heart / To the vast / mystery / Of the universe. / It means letting your heart pulse / With the life of the / universe. / Without thought and without reservation. / It means being so in love / That you are / Willing to dissolve / And be recreated in every moment”
To me, worship means to be of service. I will meet you, as you are, and offer the entirety of my being to our time together. I will hold a quiet space, heart pulsing with the life of the universe, so that we may both become willing to dissolve and be recreated in every moment. This is my promise.
Tea as plant medicine: Cultivating the Sacred in the Ordinary
a moving meditation focused on presence
For those who haven’t experienced a Tea Ceremony before, I like to describe it as a form of moving meditation. Not that kind of meditation - you know, where you have to sit perfectly still and not move or sneeze and your legs fall asleep instantly. This is NOT that kind of meditation. Here, all you need to be able to do is hold a bowl and breathe. You do not need to have any prior experience of any kind, just a willingness to sit quietly, be present, and enjoy a peaceful moment with a beautiful bowl of Tea.
What Happens At A Tea Ceremony?
The Tea Ceremony I offer is rooted in the cycles of Nature and the ancient traditions of Tea’s birthplace, China. During the Ceremony, we’ll sit in silence with gentle music, drinking Tea with intention. This allows us to become more open and present to the moment we find ourselves in. Our heartbeats will slow, our jaws will relax, and our minds will naturally begin to slow down. Even if you simply find an hour of peaceful reflection away from the busy cacophony of life, that is a gift in itself. For many, the experience of Tea Ceremony offers so much more.

What people are saying about Community Tea…
“The power of community tea is something that can only be understood by going to experience it for yourself! It’s kept me coming back over and over through all the seasons and I always leave changed.
Cat holds space skilfully and has created the tranquil atmosphere needed for true connection to nature, the self, or whatever it is that you need.”
Tea Journey™
*Book this offering if you’re wanting to experience Tea on your own/with a private group*
Through my own lifelong connection with nature, and many years of sitting with and serving Tea to others, I’ve discovered that deepening our natural bond with the world around us can lead to profound, transformative experiences. I've noticed that people who return for Tea again and again often find this connection happening on its own. That’s why I created Tea Journey™, to offer something extra to those who want to explore this deeper connection beyond our regular Community Tea Sits.
We will begin with a silent Tea meditation, followed by time for sharing and connection. Each Ceremony typically lasts about an hour.
Tea Journey™ is a one-on-one (or private group) Tea Ceremony, located either at The Wild (my tearoom in Calgary Alberta) or out in the wide world.
